Districts This Week!

NFL Districts... No, we will not be squaring off against hulking linemen and superstar receivers from the Dallas Cowboys, Houston Texans, or Denver Broncos. Actually, we will be facing any and all high schools at every conceivable level from our West Oklahoma District of the National Forensic League! That's right, this is where all the teams from schools in our district compete for the 2 or 3 coveted spots at Nats, otherwise known as NFL Nationals. Do we stand of chance of getting one of those spots this year? Not likely -- remember, everyone is in one big division -- novice, jv and varsity. With five rounds of prelims, we will face a variety of teams; some will be top-notch varsity teams with four or more years of experience, and others may be brand new like us. We will do our best and try to learn as much as we can from each round.

Be sure to pick up schedules and signature sheets for districts this week. Parents must sign entry forms (according to some odd NFL rule). We will miss classes all day Thursday and Friday, so please check with your teachers in advance about work you will miss. Good luck to everyone entering IEs for the first time ever!! What a way to step up and accept the challenge. I am proud of you all!

Information Night A Big Success

Thank you to everyone who helped make our first annual debate parent-student information night a success! We had over 45 people in attendance, and we hope that we were able to provide an introduction to what Casady debate is all about and answer a lot of questions. We appreciate everyone taking time out of their busy week to come learn about our program, and we look forward to working with you in the years to come!
