We brought 6 teams to the novice division at Edmond North this weekend, and there were 24 total novice teams. Four of our teams broke to the out rounds, and three of the four went undefeated in prelims. All total first night we won 18 rounds and lost 6 our first night. Every team won at least two rounds out of their four. At the end of the day Saturday, we can report that Casady swept the novice division. Our two teams went undefeated today through quarters and semis, and then since they would have had to debate each other in the finals, we called it and walked away with gold and silver. Overall, Casady teams won 22 rounds of debate this weekend and lost 6. We garnered the attention and respect of the teams, coaches and judges. I am proud of how our students conducted themselves. They brought honor to Casady and clearly promoted our school's reputation in the community. Congratulations!
We have a lot of work to do to get ready for UNT, so this coming week we will be cutting cards, working on the aff, learning how to run and respond to T arguments better, working on internal links to adv and disads, and, for those moving up to JV, adding CPs and Ks. Woohoo! Bring it on!
